How we started

Our story is a marriage of Spanish and Midwest cultures: We are from Barcelona and Michigan. Living in different parts of the U.S., we've loved introducing friends and family to authentic Spanish cuisine and culinary culture. Not just gazpacho and black rice, but the traditions around sharing meals with family and friends that makes Spanish cuisine special.

Driven by our love for Spain and its traditions, we opened La Cabra Boja as a Spanish-style market and café that would bring a taste of Spain to Madison.

What we're doing

We are excited to offer a variety of delicious imported Spanish products, while also sharing the cultural values behind our food. We offer fresh, minimally processed ingredients, an immersion into Spanish culinary culture, and a slower, more meaningful approach to dining. We hope to introduce our customers to the magic of Spain — where meals are not just about eating, but about connecting and sharing.

We look forward to offering cooking classes that will allow you to dive even deeper into the flavors and traditions of Spain, including:

  • Date Night
  • Spanish Language and Cooking for Kids
  • Hosting Like a Mediterranean
  • Pinchos: Tapas’ Younger Brother

Every visit to our shop is a small taste of Spain, and we hope it brings as much joy into your life as it does to ours!
